These re-purposed bottles I made were inspired by a post I found on Pinterest. I thought they were so darling that I wanted to re-create them myself to use in my living room.
Materials I used:
-Welch's Sparkling Cider bottles
- About 200 ft.Original colored Jute
- About 200 ft.Off-white Jute
-Old t-shirt
-Burlap
-Hot glue gun
This craft is really simple, just takes a little time!
First, I made the burlap flower by cutting out little pieces and glued them to make a cone-shaped piece. I then layered all of these ( made the petals on the back bigger) to create the flower.
Second, I made the little white roses out of my husband's old t-shirt. Talk about re-purposing! I cut up little strips and then rolled them and twisted them until they looked like a rose. This step is very easy to do and you can't really mess up! As you form your rose, use hot glue once in awhile to keep it together.
Third, I took the original jute color and started to wind it around very top of the bottle. Before you do this, make sure you snip off the ring that comes around the bottle. You don't want any bumps on your bottle! Then, hot glue it at the top to secure it. The top is the trickiest part, so take it slow and make sure you cover up the ridges with the jute. Feel free to use the hot glue liberally on the top.
But after that, you won't have to use hot glue the rest of the way down the bottle. Just wrap the jute nice and tight and close together ( But not too tight, or else you might unwrap everything!)
Then once you get to the bottom use hot glue to secure it. And voila! Do the same thing with the off-white jute on the other bottles.
To make the "e" I just used leftover jute and glued it on. Easy!
NOTE: You can put little branches or flowers into the jars and put them on a table or mantle. Enjoy your creation!
